So i straighten my hair almost everyday, I have used many different shampoos, most recently i tried Head and Shoulders, and that left my hair dry and greasy, So i bought Herbal Essences Break's over shampoo and conditioner, but does it really work? Nah, not really. The best thing you could do for your hair would be using a deep conditioning product for repairing hair from heat damage, even if your hair isn't really damaged this will protect it from happening.


Also use you can make your conditioner work twice as good. Put conditioner your conditioner on, focusing on the ends and wrap it in a hot towel and leave for 10mins and it will work as a deep conditioner!

HE is not going to make your hair break off it is just as good as pantene or garnier

If you spend $3 on a shampoo, and the company is making a profit-what quality of ingredients do you think are put in to make this stuff? you spend at least $20 on a pair of jeans you wear once a week if that-y not spend less than that on something you have to wear everyday?

Nope...it doesnt do much for me, but it does make my waves more relaxed. The shampoo and conditioner are basically made for easier use so you can straigghten your hair after you use it with a straightening iron.
depends how your hair is in the first place. mines semi wavy and i use that and the straightening mousse and it works for me.
I have natrually pretty staright hair that flips alot at the ends and bought the shampoo for me it works if i blow dry my hair afterwords myfriends with super curly hair bought it and it really helped to make her super curls ino waves which were very easy for her to quickly staright but since she has very short hair her reslts if she had had longer hair would probly have been different. it all depends on what kind of hair you have now but it definetly helps make hair much easier to straight

Andrae, the burn feeling is probably the Sodium Laurel Sulfate in the shampoo. Most drug store shampoos use it because it is very cheap and lathers up. What you should know though is that it is harder on your hair and scalp %26amp; you also dont need to have a very foamy lather to get your hair clean. And some of these products have more sulfate than others.





Here are some common side effects of sulfate shampoos:


1. Irritates the scalp


2. Dries out your hair and strips the color and shine


3. Causes your ends to split and the hair shaft and follicle to unsmooth


4. Instigates hair loss





Burt's Bees and Pureology both make sulfate free products as well as some of the organic shampoos. Check your labels.

I am currently using it and it is no different than any other shampoo by herbal essences and it doesn't even smell as good as the original. It doesn't help straighten your hair whether your hair is curly, wavy or already straight. I also agree with whoever said that it leaves your hair dry. So no I would not recommend it.
I personally don't like Herbal Essences' shampoo because it leaves your hair quite dry and damaged. But maybe thats just me.

There are only so many ingredients that can be put into shampoo to actually clean your hair. Sometimes I go for a little more expensive and sometimes I go for the dollar jobby's. There all pretty much the same.

I have to wash my hair every day if I am going out because it looks limp and a bit greasy if I dont. However, people keep telling me that I am washing out the natural oils in my hair and thats why its looking so limp.





My solution has been to wash my hair if I know anybody is going to see me, and on the inbetween days when I'm just sitting around the house, I now just tie it up out of the way and dont wash it.

My favorite Herbal Essences shampoo and conditioner is the Totally Twisted (purple bottle). I love (and so does my boyfriend) the way it smells. This will most likely make your hair a little more wavy than normal. I have really curly hair and this definitely keeps the bounce in my hair and doesn't make it frizzy. If you want to keep the waviness in your hair but not have the frizziness, why don't you try the Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Mousse? That's what I use and even if you let it air dry, it doesn't get frizzy, just dries into place (it also doesn't give that hard wet look once it totally dries). Hope this helps and good luck!

Herbal Essences is not too great. Try Philosophy products they make some great shampoos and conditioners that really help get your hair back in shape. Mine was dry mess until I used Philosophy. The day a friend sent me a link to a site about their products was a day that changed my life...or at least my hair.lol good luck!

Daily washing is not recommended. They say it just aggravates your oil glands on your scalp even more. Try washing it every second or third day. I would advise you to go to your nearest hairdressing salon and ask them whats the best shampoo to use for your scalp.

But it takes a little while to work, if you use for a week and then blow dry your hair it comes out straightt but a bit puffy so you might want to use a flat iron on low heat just to get the puffyness out it will be worth it but it does dry out your hair so you might want to use a leave in conditioner spray after you get out of the shower : )

Herbal essences is first of all terrible for your hair.


Plus no shampoos and conditioners work like that. You still have to use a straightener. I'd suggest L'oreal straight product its in a pink bottle and you put it on before you blowdry. Those products are supposed to help with heat damage prevention for use with a straightener and a blowdryer, it won't just be if you let your hair dry it would be magically straight.

I have dangerously straight shampoo and it doesnt work if you just use it and not style ur hair with a flat iron. try www.herbalessence.com they have steps there to style your hair with all of their shampoos. it is a lot of work tho.

My hair's a tad longer than yours. But the shampoo it's self won't do much. It's not a very good shampoo. Try putting in leave in conditioner and then just straighten the ends. It'll give moisture to your hair,and leave it looking soft. But no, the shampoo it'sself won't do much.

I use that and honestly it doesn't make it any straighter than any other shampoo does, it dried my hair out bad, i since you already have dry hair..i don't suggest using it. ONe i liked was Aussie's moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Hope this helps!
I found that HE shampoos n conditioners made my hair dryer which was sad because they smell so good. Try Redken Smooth Down for frizzies, its kind of pricey but it works, especially if you're only washing every other day which is best for dry hair

Or try the ';Soft and Shiny'; it doesn't really do much but it helps a little. The best way to keep your hair soft and smooth is to deep condition it and lay low on the straightening, trust me.

Well, if you usually straighten you hair, I'd by the ';Dangerously Straight'; shampoo and conditioner in the pink bottle, but for a wavy, scrunched look, ';Tossly Me Softly'; apparently is the best. Unless you have dry hair, you don't really need the EXTRA moisturizing products they have, and pretty much all their products will work the same, though if you have dry hair, it's hard to get soft hair with any type of product!
Hmmm. since you use alot of straighteners and such, i would go wiff the damage control, That way, it repairs it when it's been burned, or such.

I used to use that shampoo. My hair is pretty frizzy and such when its completely dry with no product. I could see a difference (not a big one of course but there was something different) in my hair texture. It wasnt as unruly so I could straighten my hair better.





Now I'm trying to get into natural things such as coconut oil to help out my hair.

It seems to have helped my hair some. It's the best inexpensive type shampoo I've used for that purpose. Using good conditioners and moisturizer type things have also seemed to keep my hair less frizzy and made it easier to tame.

You don't need to know where this shampoo is-trust me! I know it smells good, but it contains harsh chemicals that strip your hair-watch out! If you do choose to use this try to use a ';good'; product 3 or 4 days a week and use the herbal essences inbetween! I am not sure if they make the original ones anymore since they came out with that new line!

Totally Twisted works soooo well. I have wavy long hair and it makes it soo smooth and moisture rich. PERFECT! those are the products i use and my hair looks fabulous. i also have the *sunsilk de frizz cream. my routine is i wash my hair with the shampoo then put on the conditioner and rinse it off. then i get out of the shower and use the de frizz cream then scrunch in a lot of mousse and go to sleep with my hair still damp with all the products in and in the morning i have perfectly defined curls
your best bet is to try it i want the totaly twisted gel for the summer when my hair gets wet it has a wave so i might buy it this summer idk but try it out i have the bondy envy it did work it jsut dryed my hair out alittle
