Ketocanazole/Nizoral shampoo for bathing ?

Went to the walk in centre this morning with what I thought was ana allergic reaction on my face only to be told that it was a fungal infection and the Doctor said to wash my face with Ketocanazole shampoo. This is an anti-dandruff shampoo so I am at a loss as to how this can be used for the face. Does anyone know why this is ?Ketocanazole/Nizoral shampoo for bathing ?
Ketoconazole is an antifungal agent, dandruff is caused by a fungus- hence its availability as a shampoo

Be careful not to get it in the eyes

have provided a link to UK manufacturer: type nizoral in the search field

Ketoconazole is an antifungal medication. Fungi are organisms normally found on the skin and in moist areas of the body. When the skin is injured or chronically moistened, or normal bacteria flora of the body are altered due to prolonged antibiotic treatment, fungus can proliferate to cause inflammation of the skin or moist body areas. Fungus organisms can also infect the lungs and other body tissues especially in patients with weakened immune systems.
